You know, I was just looking at my new avatar, and realized ... holy crap, I am killer good looking!!!
Especially with the do-rag covering my bald head.
Yah, it's good to have a no post post thread. This way, I can be a dope, and not clutter up the borg.

I believe that that's a 1929 Ford truck. I say that because I learned how to drive driving one like that (not nearly in as good of shape). We had a cabin on a lake in southern MN and there was about five cabins that, at the time, had no running water. One of our neighbors had a '29 Ford and we would load up cream cans in the back and go down the road to the resort and fill them up. Then we had water for drinking and washing. By the time I was about eleven, Wally, the owner of the truck, would let me drive back to the cabin because as I was busy filling cream cans with water him and the one or two other
gentlemen that came along were busy in the resort's bar emptying beer cans. The pressure coming out of the spigot where I was filling the cans was pretty low and it could take up to an hour to get them all filled. That and coupled with the fact that the men had been hitting it pretty hard before we even set out put Wally in no condition to drive.
When I got older a buddy and I would wait 'til Wally drank himself into a coma then we would push the truck down the road a ways so he wouldn't hear us start it up and go out cruisin' in it. We only did that two or three times because on the last trip my dad met us coming down the road. He wasn't nearly as impressed as you might like to think. :opps:
Good times. Good memories.

Speaking of classic cars, as a kid I got to ride around in this '30 A 5 window coupe with a rumble seat. Good memories.

I didn't lose my hair. I had it surgically removed. I'm switching to solar heat.

Man, did I have a crappy day! It was a little after 10:00, and I had only done four or five services, but I wasn't running behind, and I felt good about the day. That was before my truck broke down. Was waiting to make a left turn, and when the green arrow lit up, I stepped on the gas, heard (and felt) an enormous THUMP and heard a roaring, grinding sound. Truck didn't move.
Had to wait about an hour for a tow, then got my son to drive up to the office (an hour drive) so I could get a back-up truck, then another drive back to transfer my equipment to the new truck and try to salvage some of the day. From 10:00 to 3:00, I was dealing with this crap. Missed six, maybe seven services today, which means they'll just be added on later this month.
Well, I have a big work day tomorrow, and then I'm off for a week. I need this vacation just about as much as I need air. Fortunately, I have some homebrew in the meantime.

That stinks Dave. Tomorrow will be better. My example from this past weekend.
Last weekend I was trying to figure out how to keep my fermenting bucket at a constant temp, as it didn't fit in any of my coolers (I ended up finding one though). Very frustrated and thinking I just won't brew again until the weather changes. The next day, SWMBO decides she is tired of digging for things in our chest freezer and wants to get an upright freezer and get rid of the chest freezer. Guess who's going to have a fermentation chamber soon. What a difference a day makes!

Dave....that really sucks. Sounds like that vacation is coming just at the right time. Hope you enjoy it immensely.
GWCR -- nice play on the fermentation chamber. Or....will you be tempted to make it into a kegerator???
