I lost my older brother this year, he was was 58(I'm 52) and lost a long battle with cancer. Enjoy your times, I know I did and can sit back and smile at what we DID do together as brothers. It's a long, fun, list.
I'm very sorry for your loss. I can relate on the good times, I never had a brother but my Dad was was like a brother to me and we did everything together from working on and building things, to fishing, farming and just sitting around by a bonfire and drinking beer, he passed away in 1989 but I really miss his company to this day, I still have and always will have the memories of our good times together.

I miss my dad too, he passed away early on Thursday morning last week after a long battle with cancer. My two daughters & I had planned to visit him several months ago, then just the day before we arrived in Waco, Texas to visit, he became critical. We spent three days talking to him in the hospital before he passed away. He was not responsive, but we are confident he heard our well wishes and the many stories we told during that time; no regrets.

Condolences, sorry to hear about your dad. Atleast you got to spend a little bit of time with him before he passed.

I just lost one of my two remaining uncles last week. My dad's younger brother and his only sibling still living (other uncle is on my mom's side). If my dad makes it to June - and there's no indication that he won't - he'll be the only one of his siblings to make it to ninety. His dad made it to 97 and we buried his mom - my grandpa and grandma - on her 101st birthday.

No secret password, it's just that no chickens are allowed.

I'm going to just focus on IPA's and Stouts for a while ... as they're my favorite brews, and the easiest (for me) to put together.
Browns, and Reds, I'll look around in the meantime and see if I find anything. My browns have always been "good", but nothing that "really grabs you".
I've found that Simcoe is my favorite hop for an IPA. Great flavour. Bitter with Warrior ... flavor with Simcoe ... mmmmmmmmmmmm
Hell, I made something that has only 2ozs Simcoe total in a 5 cal batch, and it tastes like an IPA. I'll usually put more, though.
But, you don't really need 6 ... 3 or 4 is well into the IPA zone for that hop.
A LHBS in Brooklyn claims to have a great nut brown in a partial boil kit. I may try it, and if it works out, see about keeping the ingredients on hand. I really should order some brewdemon nut brown. I've just really been not doing extracts for a long time.

I did something today that I hadn't done in five years. My accident was on July 13, 2009. After all the kings horses and all the kings men finally got ole Humpty Dumpty here put back together again, I decided today that I would grab the golf clubs and go to the driving range. My leg doesn't quite work the way it used to, and there are a whole lot of kinks to work out, but dammit, I did it. I can't put into words just how good it felt to do that. I'm making it a point to get out on the course this year and do a full 18 at least a few times.
I've got a permanent grin on my face right now.
