Hello -
For personal preferences I have 4 Mr. Beer kegs. I will do a 5 gallon recipe and split into the two kegs. I sometimes have two packets of yeast, one for each keg. Sometimes I had two starters from washed yeast, one for each keg.
Does anyone see an issue with dumping all the yeast in my wort and then splitting that into the two kegs? I understand contamination/cleanliness factors.
But outside of that are there any items that may have me rethink this strategy? Such as damaging the yeast?

Not so much damaging the yeast, but perhaps not getting a viable amount in each LBK. IMO, it would be easier to get the correct amount of yeast if you pitched in each LBK separately.
Fermenting: Bucket 1 - Fresh Squeezed IPA; Bucket 2 - Empty
Kegged: Keg 1 - Irish Red; Keg 2 - Cream Ale; Keg 3 - Amber Ale; Keg 4 - APA; Keg 5 - Empty; Keg 6 - Empty; Keg 7 - Empty

Fair assessment. Suggestion on splitting the starter evenly? Just a good ol' measuring cup lol........?gwcr wrote:Not so much damaging the yeast, but perhaps not getting a viable amount in each LBK. IMO, it would be easier to get the correct amount of yeast if you pitched in each LBK separately.
