I bet the analog works fine once you dial it in. I know at work we use an analog one in our temperature test chambers, but that is a high temperature test so I can't really compare it to fermentation temperature ranges.
I sprung for the digital one for at home, and would buy it again.

Re: analog or digital
without knowing the price difference. if there's just a couple bucks difference, well I would go digital.

yea thinking bout it....its like 20 bucks difference....plus ive heard the digital one will not turn compresser off in the middle of cycle which i guess helps it hast longer
Re: analog or digital
I have the digital and really like it. I can't speak about the analog, but for 20 extra....I would recommend the digital.

I got an SCT 1000(digital) and I can't say I've noticed it does anything but shut down when the pre set temp is reached. what I know is, it does not restart with out a specific re-set time for the compressor. Meaning it won't shut down then try to restart in a min or 2. How long is up to you, but @ least 10 min between shut down and restart would be recommended. That's what's good for your compressor.
