pitched white labs Mexican Lager yeast on a starter late yesterday and so far ... nothing
Is this yeast normally this slow getting started?

Re: Mexican Lager yeast
Lager yeast is a bottom fermenting yeast... Might not see much on top, at least for a while...
What's going on down below? Any trub yet?

Re: Mexican Lager yeast
What size batch? Did you make a starter? What temperature is it at? Lager yeast does ferment different than ale yeast.

Re: Mexican Lager yeast
This is the starter
More than half the beers I make are Lagers
Got one in the keg, one lagering and one fermenting right now
But I haven't used this yeast before
And Ive never had a starter with almost no activity now after 22 hours.

Got ya, sorry was at work and totally missed the "on starter" bit.
Haven't used that one before. Have made a starter using their WLP830 lager yeast. Even though it didn't look like it had done much as far as krausen, the lighter color that the starter turned was an indication it had multiplied and turning off the stir plate and letting it settle some showed that there was a lot more yeast than when I started.
