Anyone use Brewer's Friend for recipes? It was free and is no longer but it looks like a bit more work than Beersmith. I tried it when it was first out and it's not as BIAB friendly so I stopped playing with it.
Lately, I've been getting emails to update my account as I'm no longer able to use all the functions without paying for it but for now, I'm not interested but was curious if anyone uses and and what your thoughts are if you do.
I always like options!

I think I tried it a few time quite a while ago when it was a free app too. And, much like you, I liked BeerSmith better, so I quit using it.

Re: Brewer's Friend
Have it as a free app on my ipod, but you cannot delete recipes and cannot have more than 2 on the free app. I just delete all the ingredients, rename and if it is something I want to make I go to my PC and load the info into QBrew. The BF app gets me close while I'm on the couch doodling with a recipe.

I use it on the laptop like Steve. I like it, but mostly use it for ABV calculations, hydrometer corrections, strike water temp.
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.

Re: Brewer's Friend
I use the advanced water chemistry section to build my water and the new recipe page to see where my beer is at for style. there was a time when I almost singed up to a years scrip but then the site changed hands and I was not sure it was worth it anymore. I find there software good and there calculators good but do not like how the recipes print out, uses to much paper and ink for me.
OOPS I just checked brewers friend and I was wrong, there print out is better now . not sure if it was changed but I can get the recipe's on one page now. before it was using more paper for some reason.

Re: Brewer's Friend
I have always used Brewers Friend, I like it. I don't get too complicated with things and think it is fairly simple to use, and I mainly just use it too see what my strike temp should be, build recipes, and a few other minor things.

I like beersmith and have no reason to use anything else.
