My name is Jim, and I brew in Ames, IA. My father-in-law got me hooked on this glorious habit by giving me some of his spare equipment and buying a few refills for me. As a science geek, I have quickly become engrossed in this hobby, and in a half a year have acquired a total of 3 LBK's. I am currently making the transition from using HME kits, to UMEs soon steeping grains!
I work in the grocery/foodservice/catering areas all in one job. We have a grocery chain in the midwest that has in-store kitchens and does caterings.

Hello!
Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain.
Quaintest thoughts — queerest fancies,
Come to life and fade away:
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today.
– Edgar Allan Poe
