My 2014 State Fair Results

Submitted two brews to our State Fair this year...

Too early for the score sheets but I have the combined scores and place info so far...


18A Strong Belgian Ales - Blond Ale

Total combined score: 32.5
Place: Bronze (3rd)


9E Scottish and Irish Ales - Strong Scotch Ale

Total combined score: 29.5
Place: HM (Honorable Mention)

I actually didn't expect it to medal, I was looking at it as a trial recipe for which I would get feedback and then revise...

I'm not particularly crazy (IMO), and I don't rock-climb. It's just the name of a video game I used to like to play, back in the 80's.

Haven't gotten scores or sheets yet for Ohio Brew Week, they said next couple weeks in the email, but they did send out the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Hm's. Interested to see the sheets, the one I thought had a chance did not place, the one I thought had no chance took Bronze.

Yeah, it's funny how that works...

I figured my scotch ale would do better as it took two first place slots earlier this year...

I think it's past its prime though...

I now feel the only humane thing to do is to consume the remaining few bottles.
