Dogfish Head 90 Minute

Post by Beer-lord »

OK, not a review, just an opinion of someone who rarely gets to taste this and is a huge WEST COAST IPA fan.
But, after behaving all week I came home from work, got in just 45 gyminutes (you can use this word if you want to in your conversations) and after I tasted a lighter beer, grabbed this one from the fridge. Oh boy, my mouth is making serious love to this beer. to me, 90 minute is the best of the 60,90, 120 or whatever beer they have.
And best yet, my wonderful godchild picked some up for me and RedBEERd. That's raising em right!

I agree that it's much better than the 60 minute. I've never had the 120, so I ca't comment there. But it definitely blows the 60 minute away!!

Which one is boozy? I was in De, at DFH, didn't care for one of the bigger ones.

120 is definitely 'boozy' but 90 is a good meld of heavy malt and hops. I'm a hop guy but I do appreciate a great, malty beer that is balanced with the right amount of hops.
East Coast vs. West Coast.....huge difference in malt but both have their pluses.
I must have more.

+1
IMO, 90 is the "sweet spot." 60 is very good, 90 is great, 120 is over the cliff.

I'm not particularly crazy (IMO), and I don't rock-climb. It's just the name of a video game I used to like to play, back in the 80's.

I tend to go for the 60, but that's just because I tend to not drink much beer that is as high ABV as the 90. Not because I don't like the 90. Just because of ABV the 60 ends up being my sweet spot. Or I might get some Victory Hop Devil if I want the malt bomb IPA experience. (it's a lot like the festbier IPA I made, but it's mostly Vienna I think where mine has more Munich).

It was probably the 120 we didn't like much.
We also tried the Burton Baton, which is big, hoppy, malty. We all loved it, some too much
