Brew Demon question ... untrusted site?

Post by Tabasco »

I get this when I try to log into Brew Demon

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.brewdemon.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Any advice? Thanks.

I don't get that notification through Chrome. End of month/year might just be that a list didn't get updated. I wouldn't worry about it.
Fermenting: Bucket 1 - Fresh Squeezed IPA; Bucket 2 - Empty

Kegged: Keg 1 - Irish Red; Keg 2 - Cream Ale; Keg 3 - Amber Ale; Keg 4 - APA; Keg 5 - Empty; Keg 6 - Empty; Keg 7 - Empty

I just logged in there, not a problem for me. Maybe you have a setting on Firefox not liking this site? Certificate problem? Did you clear past history/certificates? Just guessing here, as said, I had no problmem a few minutes ago.

If you try to use the https site it does pop up a certificate warning because the Certificate Authority that signed their certificate isn't trusted. I'm on my phone and this version of Chrome doesn't seem to provide the full details of the error message so I can't tell who the CA is.

Same warning in Android. They have a problem, this will cost them business.

Site is currently not secure. Https is crossed out.

It looks like they use Geohost/RapidSSL. It seems like a lot of people using Geohost have problems with this since they haven't been accepted as a default trusted CA. To fix it the users need to install the CAs root certificate which isn't really a normal thing to do.

I have never ordered anything from them to date just placed some things in a cart. I was one the site yesterday looking at my profile and looked at my orders for shits and giggles and two orders shipped on 12/26/14 one to Philly and on to Cali with tracking numbers and all. Note I don't live in Philly or Cali and never have ordered anything from them how's that for weird.

I've spoke with Sam and he said the security certificate was updated a couple weeks ago and the Firefox browser sends to be having issues with the new certificate.

The issue that bcltoys mentioned Sam will address directly with you per the PM I sent you.

Android has issues with Chrome also. Seeing someone else's shipments points to further issues.

I had the certificate issue with firefox but ok'd the site anyway because I had been hearing of a few websites having this problem recently due to updated certificates like Louie said. I have never had issues with BrewDemon's site and just logged into my account there since bcltoys had an issue but for my account everything's fine.

bcltoys…not sure what link you were sent, but everything is working fine on our end. Send an email to customerservice@brewdemon.com or a private message with your full name and I will look into this. This all sounds strange, especially since we had zero orders ship to Philly on Dec. 26th.
