Sad day in sports

Post by D_Rabbit »

I grew up going to sleep to him on Sportscenter. It was Chris Berman and Stuart Scott. Every time I would flip my pillow over I would think of his catch phrase, "as cool as the other side of the pillow." Stuart Scott was one of the guys who thrust sportscenter and broadcasting to a whole new level. I would put him up there with any of the greats when it comes to that.

It is a sad day for sports and for everyone. He seemed like a great guy and put his family above everything. Thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family and everyone else dealing with this horrible disease!

Like he said in his last public speaking appearance. "When you die you don't lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner in which you live."

The world lost a great person!

You can watch his whole speech at the link below. It is a very good watch.

Thanks for sharing. We all live and die, many too soon. The point is to affect other lives in a positive manner.

Never mind, there it is.

The tribute they did narrated by Robin Roberts was really well done and pretty emotional. I grew up Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann on sports center doing The Big Show. Then Stuart Scott came along and pushed things even farther. He really was a pioneer in sports broadcasting.

I saw this earlier, too. It's sad to lose anybody, but even worse when they are taken so young.
RIP - and thanks for the memories.
