Recipe Collaboration Exchange - Fall 2015 pairings
Sorry I didn't get to this until later in the day; we went out for a pancake breakfast, and then I got to brewing as soon as I got home. But better late than never.
Mostly Level 4 brewers signing up, but as it turns out, there is an even number for every level, so that means I'll be sitting out this time. I honestly don't mind, since I'm having a time just putting together my brew schedule anyway. So here are the pairings. Contact each other and work out a nice recipe, and don't forget to share your results with the rest of us!
jpsherman/Brewbirds
SomeGuyBrewing/Gman20
LouieMacGoo/jimjohnson (ending the RCE streak)
Ibasterd/Taz11
Kealia/Foothiller
BlackDuck/FrozenInTime
philm00x/dbrowning
Thanks for participating, folks! Happy brewing!

Thanks for setting it up Dave. Louie you got a PM.

Woah. Not sure how that happened; I was sure I accounted for everyone.MrBandGuy wrote:Looks like I got missed. No worries, I'll catch the next train to collaboration town.
Therefore, if it's okay with you, I'll put myself back in, and you and I can pair up. What do you say?

Hey Taz11, I sent you an email. PM didn't want to go through. Looking forward to coming up with something!

Dave (just saw this post) I haven't made contact with JP yet but since we were together already for an RCE he might like to pair with MrBandGuy if you didn't come out even.FedoraDave wrote:Woah. We were offering to coach a newbie and JP is by no means a newbie; that dude has got it going on.

MrBandGuy wanted in as a level 4. I'm in as a level 3.Brewbirds wrote:Dave (just saw this post) I haven't made contact with JP yet but since we were together already for an RCE he might like to pair with MrBandGuy if you didn't come out even.FedoraDave wrote:Woah. I will work with whomever, but I'm not looking to do AG at the moment.
Besides, maybe we can work on a rye recipe like we discussed a while back.

I'm good either way guys. Hate to throw a wrench in the pairings. I can do extract with JP. I actually haven't done too many extracts since going Biab anyway, so that'll be fun. Or I can introduce JP to the ways of the brew bag.

Birdie, it's okay if you and JP work together for a second time. BlackDuck and jimjohnson were paired up three times in a row (totally random, I swear!) They've enjoyed working together, and I think they collaborated on some good recipes that pleased both of them.
MrBandGuy, I look forward to working with you on a BIAB recipe. I like to do the RCE recipes as 2.5 gallon ones, and I always do my 2.5 batches as BIAB (or extract with steeping grains). So I'm pretty flexible.
I'll PM you ASAP, and we can discuss what we'd like to do. I'm open to a lot of things, and I don't have any style I'm itching to do, or ingredients I really want to try, but new grains, new hops, a new yeast strain, or a less common style is always something I'm up for.
Let the collaborating begin!
