Interesting article from BYO a few months ago on hop stands, and combining them with a dry hop. Going to tweak my APA with this method on the next brew.

It's a great article. I think I posted this on the old forum for a good read.
I personally like FWH and then late additions plus loads of dry hopping. That's just my taste. Plus, I'm not sure for the extra 30-45 minutes added to my brew day that I'm actually noticing any major differences than what I'm already doing.
But as has been said, it's great that we have so many options at our disposal to brew beer.

I've been kinda doing a hop stand for anything that includes a 0 minute (flameout) addition of hops. My favorite that comes to mind is my SNPA clone recipe, throwing in a bunch of whole leaf Cascade hops in when it drops to 170, taking them out once it gets below 80 degrees.
