I used to subscribe but I let it lapse a while ago. When I was a subscriber their digital subscription was really just a PDF version of the magazine that you had to pinch and scroll a ton to read. Useabilty-wise, it was a poor experience.
I use a Nexus 7 Google tablet if it matters. I'm assuming the experience was the same for Apple products.
That being said, is anybody a current subscriber with a digital membership? Is it still that way? I was thinking about subscribing again but I can't go back to that experience. I suppose I could get the magazine mailed to me...

Re: Anybody have a BYO digital subscription?
I have a digital subscription to BYO and both the digital and 'paper' version of Zymurgy.
I read it on my ipad and it's not really a bother. If you pay for the digital version, you can view it online. I think it still works the same way but at least you can use a larger monitor or even connect to a TV is you want.
Tis the way of the future whether we like it or not. Even if trees still grow.

I don't have the BYO but Zymurgy works better then he describes though. I don't need to pinch/zoom at all on my iPad to read it.

BYO was a mess. Imagine scanning every page and turning it into a PDF. Then trying to read each article on a tablet. Because of their layouts, it's a pain in the ass. If they had an app and made the content fit in that I'd be much more inclined to come back.

I have the digital subscription & use the Brew Your Own Magazine mobile app. Works great for me on my phone! Super easy to find stuff in previous issues.
You can either look at the magazine view, or switch to easier to read text view.Drinking: Columbus Double India Pale Ale
