Founders Breakfast Stout

Post by Kealia »

Yep, you read that right. I bought one. And I will drink it, or at least try to soon.

I've heard good things about this beer so now that Founders is available in my area I decided to bite the bullet and pick one up. If I get adventurous I may even take some video of the tasting to prove that I did. I've found a few stouts over the last year that haven't been awful (Left Handed Milk Stout, for example) so we'll see what this brings.

For now, a teaser. It's coming....

I'll believe it when I see it. But buying it is the first step of drinking it!!

If you don't like it, before you spit it out, let me know. I'll let you spit it in my mouth. :o
I have one in the fridge and enjoy it but it does not blow me away. Very good but I drink lots of stouts and I have other favorites. Still, to appreciate the style, you have to have one.

Don't do it. Send it to me for proper disposal. I have the appropriate training to handle such scary things.

If you don't like stouts, it's because you haven't found the right one yet. Good luck. You just might have it in hand :D

It's good to see you still keep an open mind with the darker beers. Looking forward to the follow up. I do love Breakfast Stout.

And no, we are not planning to hold you down and force feed you Stouts when you come to Asheville ;) .
That's just the rumor. It's going to be more fun just to watch your face as we drink them.

Have not tried that one yet. I am kicking around the idea of doing two small batch beers next week/weekend, 3 gallons each to bring to hopefully Asheville. Bottoms Up Brown (possibly a surprise twist on this one if the experiment works), and then would like to brew up the Dry Irish Stout recipe I have been working on to see if this is what I want to put in the barrel to age.

I had to look at the date on my screen to make sure it wasn't April first when I saw this one posted. :o

Rick Beer may be right if Kealia is going to the Dark Side.

Sounds good, one of the vendors I buy from has a clone of this, I may just have to buy and brew it.
