It doesn't really matter whether it's brew demon beer or other home brew.

The answer depends on several variables.

Best case scenario is good sanitation, no oxygen introduced during bottling and glass bottles. In that case, the beer should stay good for years.

If you're using PET bottles, oxygen can get in, so the beer won't last as long. I think I've read that 6 months is the max, but I'm pretty sure that when I was using PET, I had some longer than a year.

If oxygen gets in during bottling, the beer can go stale faster. Poor sanitation can lead to an infection, which can lead to off flavors and in the worst case scenario, bottle bombs.

I've never had it happen, but it's possible for a glass bottle to get overcarbonated to the point where they actually burst.

It also depends somewhat on the style of beer. Hoppy beers start to lose their aroma and unique flavors fairly quickly after bottling and should be drunk within several months. The fresher the better. Maltier beers (porters, stouts, etc) especially those with higher alcohol content, tend to do very well with time to rest in the bottle before drinking. Many, if not most, improve as the flavors blend with aging, like many wines do.

I've had beer stay perfectly fine in the PET bottles for 18+ months.

So don't stress about it.

All else equal ... warm-conditioned homebrew reaches its peak ~8wks in the bottle.
Cold-conditioned homebrew can peak a few weeks sooner.

At 12wks ... your warm-conditioned brew is still more than drinkable but it's on its way out.
Cold-conditioned beers are reportedly good for at least a year.

Style also has a lot to do with how long the beer will "last"... Technically beer will last 100's of years...how good it will be, well that depends..

I have some that is two years in, have lost some of its hop presence but is drinkable. Most of what I make now is kegged so I mostly only bottle for competitions, have had 2 bottle bombs in glass but your okay with PET bottles they can expand unlike glass.
