Life gets in the way...

I know i haven't been around very much over the last few months but as I said in the title, Life gets in the way. Unfortunately these life things have not been pleasant. I don't normally like to share my personal life here because I don't want to bore you all. But so much has happened that I feel I must share if for no other reason but to get it off my chest. I will spare you all the ugly details and just cover everything in brief.
As some of you know last fall my wife's mother moved in with us. She had been diagnosed almost a year ago with ALS and in the fall her condition had deteriorated to the point that she could no longer take care of herself. Her moving in has not been easy and any extra space or time I had has been taken up by her added things and supporting my wife as we both care for my mother-in-law.
In February my father suffered a stroke. He has been in the hospital up until this last week when he finally came home. Although he is home he still has a long road to recovery and currently needs around the clock care. This has been very stressful on our whole family (brothers, sister and our mother) as we try to care for my parents and get use to this new "norm".
Then two weeks ago on my birthday we were woken at 3 am by a huge crashing noise, looking out the window we saw two of our cars that had been parked in the street smashed after being hit head on by a hit and run driver. One of our cars was able to get fixed but my car didn't have collision insurance and is basically a total loss. If that wasn't enough after doing my taxes I discovered that I didn't pay nearly enough taxes last year and now owe a considerable amount.
Fortunately, my family has been very supportive of everything that has been going on and we have all been supporting each other to get through this.
Thanks for letting me rant. Cheers and happy brewing.
Also thank you to those of you that did know what has been going on and have reached out and offered your thoughts. prayers and support. It is greatly appreciated.
