Coooold!

Post by John Sand »

A couple of weeks ago, optimists were talking of an early Spring, pessimists worried about the climate. I mean, it was warm! I thought I could sail, brew, sail, paint the garage doors, brew, sail, fix the car, sail... you get the picture. All at once it's January again. Snow, temps in the teens, more snow. And tomorrow my wife marches in the St Patrick's Day Parade. Which means I stand outside and watch. While my boat is warm in Georgia.
Someone please chime in from somewhere really really cold, so I can feel better by comparison.

It's 18 with the wind chill right now. Was near 70 a couple days ago. I feel you pain, you're not alone.

16 degs. Here and with the wind chill feels
Like 0. I'm doing a floor in my living room
and am sweating but when I walk out to the
Garage to get something I freeze.

We're supposed to be below normal next week though nothing like you guys. It has been an extremely odd weather year all the way back to the end of 2015.
Only the 60 next week so I'll brag a bit about that.

It's 7 degrees out right now, warmest been in a week. Been below zero nights here. The critters water has been frozen every morning even with a built in water heater. Got some work to do outside before we head to town shortly, hope this makes you grateful for that warm weather your having. :)

17 right now and snowing with a lot of wind calling for a bad storm sometime Monday
Last week it was in the 60's and not any snow to be seen. The way it works in western NY and around the Great Lakes.

Don't bet too much on that two week forecast, Rick.
But if it says warm, I want to hear it.

Its 19F here right now in New Jersey. We not only lose an hour this weekend, there's a nor'easter on the way to dump 6-8 inches more snow.

We might get 4 or 5 inches as the storm heads to the northeast. I suspect that will the last snow for us this year. Biggest storm was in November.

We got up to 17 degs. today, it quit snowing and the sun was out. Calling for a storm tomorrow night 10"-15" snow in my area. I don't care right now what it does outside, I don't have to work in it anymore and if it gets really bad I'll drive my wife to work and go back and pick her up, only 5 miles each way. I'm doing inside home improvements stuff right now and nice and warm, it does suck the water in my barn keeps freezing though....

The flora here in NE Ohio are confused, had about 2 weeks of spring weather, the crocus and the bulbs sticking out of the ground about 2-3 inches, then turned into February again. Starting this afternoon thru Weds afternoon we are predicted to get 1.5 - 2 feet of snow!

I drove thru WV on Thursday. It was 65* near Morgantown,WV and the trees were starting to bloom. Skied Snowshoe, WV Fri - Sun. It was 6* on Sat morning with a wind chill of -18*

At Home - My neighbor was thinking about taking his boat out of storage last week. Now we have a couple inches of snow on the ground and expecting 4 - 8 over night into tomorrow.
