Not beer related, but a fun program that I thought some might be interested in...
Maker's Mark Ambassador program
Free signup, and they will put your name on a barrel of Maker's Mark within the next 1-6 months. Then, after the 6-7 years of aging, you are invited to come to Kentucky for a tour and to buy bottle(s) from your barrel (if you are interested in doing so). There's a phone app to track your barrel's progress and they will send updates on things, including the expected availability date when that is determined by taste. A bunch of our friends here signed up, but of course there is no guarantee that our barrels will age at the same rate, so it likely won't end up working out for a group trip up to taste from our barrels...
Sure it's purely marketing, and it's kind of a long-game thing, but will be fun to pull a bottle from my barrel in 2025 or so...
