It's one of their kits, except I'm using m44 yeast because i have so much. I'll save the yeast that came with it for a future batch.
I think it's supposed to be 7% or so. I'll let it ferment for 3 weeks, which is longer than their instructions (big surprise).
It's kind of cool that one vessel is for fermenting, carbonating, serving.
But not cool enough that i plan to continue once I'm healthier,

Re: Started a pinter batch
I think I'll only ferment 2 weeks instead of 3. Call me impatient. I also started another 1.5 gallon batch in an lbk. I'll transfer it to the pinter for carbonation and serving.
I haven't brewed ih a long time and my memory is shot, so I'm going to guess at how much sugar to use for carbonation.

Re: Started a pinter batch
In the Pinter I don't think you can over carb it. You set it to 5 or whatever the max is when fermenting, it vents the excess pressure, and the remaining pressure is what carbs it and forces it out. So, if anything, I would overdo it vs. be too conservative. You can then later just turn the dial down to 4 and vent some if you think it has too much.
Re: Started a pinter batch
Thanks for the info. I'll just guess at how much sugar to use and adjust if necessary. I figure i can now easily move something like that around than 5 gallons. I'm improving, but I've still got a ways to go,
Re: Started a pinter batch
I got impatient. My original plan was to ferment for 3 weeks. I later decided 2 should be enough.
But it's been 9 days and i decided that was enough. I've got another batch in an LBK, and when i finish this, that should be ready (really, not just jumping the gun).
I ordered a Mr beer refill on Amazon (they're not as expensive as i remember). After that, I'll do a couple of lme with hop boil batches.
Maybe by that time, I'll be healthy enough to do a couple of small batch all grain.

Re: Started a pinter batch
I tapped this. As expected, i probably should have let it ferment longer. It's ok. But i think it would have benefited from more time in the fermenter. It's also very over carbed. It fills a glass with all foam.
I've got the second kit fermenting away in a spare LBK. I'l let that ferment longer. I'll have to. I have to drink this one to make room for it. I think I'll do the Mr beer refill as a 1.5 gallon batch and use the pinter to carbonate and dispense.

Re: Started a pinter batch
My impression is that you have to be very gentle when pulling the tap for the first couple of pours, and then it will settle down. But you can always move the dial from 5 to something lower to release some pressure as well.
