New brewer
I just started using the Demon system and I see under the advanced recipes you can add fruit and spices but what about adding some jalapeño or habanero purée to add some heat? Will it kill the yeast?
Re: New brewer
Welcome. I've never used habanero, but I've made jalapeno beer before. I've usually just added curr peppers to the wort, but adding juice should work also. I'd probably start small and add more if you want more heat.

Re: New brewer
I used to make a plain blonde ale for this, adding just enough hops to level out the sweetness. The peppers implanted the aroma. When I bottled it, I would slice in half lengthwise and drop a half without seeds, leave the white vanes, into each bottle minus the stem. After 6 months, I could taste the jalapeno with little heat. Leaving to condition for a year, that beer would be fairly spicy/hot. I imagine a habanero would push the heat too much unless you really like hot. I wouldn't puree the peppers, sliced does the job in the bottles. Tasting one every month or so is the only way to figure out where you want it.
Life is short, live it to it's fullest!
