Sadly, have not tried it yet. I have not been brewing, life has been pretty crazy for me of late. I will get 'er done, not sure when, but I NEED to brew!!!! I fell so far behind on my honey-do list whilst helping a friend get crops off the field that I think it is going to take all winter just to catch up on the list, little lone finish it. I'm just so dayum tired I can't get anything done anymore. sux to get old

Hey, Oly! Good to hear from you again.

Yeah. You'll have to work on that sarcasm thing. Even I missed it and sarcasm is my second language. :laugh

But, hey. A silver medal is a silver medal.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

Only kind of, you had the "nads" to enter your beer. Not your fault others lacked them.

Good to touch base with you all. I didn't want to seem unsociable and just disappear again, so I wanted to acknowledge everyone's replies. I'm getting dragged to a wedding far away. I hate traveling. Probably be stopped up for a week. Ugh. There better be beer there. And hookers. Oh wait, no money. SWMBO would not appreciate that little jest either, I think. Beer it is.

Sorry I haven't been around ... my 86 yr old mom had a stroke, and it's been time consuming. She mad a fast recovery and is back home ... my brother and I have to take turns going over and checking ... but she's back to being independent. Memory, speech all back ... never had any physical problems ... just the tv remote seems to confuse her a little now. We took her out to steak night at the Moose Lodge last night.

I'm stiil brewin ....

I see Mr.B has 6gal brew kit now.

I'm still really doing BIAB AG's exclusively .. induction burner indoor brew room ... fermenter pails ... corny kegs.

Be back soon.

Glad to hear your mom's recovering. Strokes can get pretty scary, especially if not caught in time. Keep in touch Tab

Sorry about your mom, Tom. That is definitely a scary thing to go through. I'm glad she's doing well, though.

Holly Bat Chit, just got a huge shock..... man... they better open up an LHBS near me soon, or I'm through brewing.... YEEESH!!

I just ordered some stuff to do 2 - 5 gallon batches, nothing fancy. The prices have gone nuts IMHO. I had to order from *3* different sources just to get the hops I need. Are hops now a scarcity?? With all the freaking shipping, one place cost more to ship than the damn hops cost.... grrrr, anywayz, $165 just to brew *10 gallons*!!!! WTF??? Shipping about kills it for me. I'm serious, something better change or I am done, I will buy $100 worth of crown and say eff it, I will toss everything in the damn dumpster before I take it in the shorts again like I just did! WTF

Vent done, on here atleast......

I'm allowed now to do a little more bending, twisting, and can now lift up to 25 pounds. Not quite enough to brew five gallons, but no reason I can't brew a two gallon batch.

I need to do some shopping this week. I know now what I'm doing next Saturday.

Hope all's well with you and yours, Jim

FIT,

I think this just might be a bad time of year for ordering hops. That and they are getting a lot more demand year after year. Next time your ordering and the site tells you they're out of a particular hop go to the Hop Union site and peruse their guide for a suitable replacement. It won't be exactly what you want but it's better than getting raped with all that shipping. And WAY better than not having at least some home brew.

Thanks Chuck, we were lucky this time(knock wood). They have not sounded the all clear, but radar shows the front in another county. So we're coming out of the small stuffy room.
